The Chapeltown branch of South Yorkshire sales and lettings agency Crucible have come up with an innovative way to support one of their local schools. The agency will be swapping ‘For Sale’ signs for signs advertising Windmill Hill School’s Summer Fayre and donating £10 to the school for every sign they put up.
In exchange for the donation, the school’s Parent Teacher Association ‘Friends of Windmill Hill’ has found twenty volunteers willing to have the Crucible Boards erected in their gardens for three weeks until the fayre, which is on Saturday 27th June 12-3pm.
Chantelle Hardie from Crucible said: “Crucible is a different kind of estate agency – we invest in community projects and activities because that makes our region a better place to live in, and then hopefully this means more people want to live in the area.
“We are delighted to make the donation to Windmill Hill, a great local school, and at the same time help them to advertise their Summer Fayre.”
Polly from Friends of Windmill Hill said: “This year our Summer Fayre is going to be bigger and better than ever, with circus shows, birds of prey, a BBQ, as well as the usual giant inflatables, ice cream, and games and stalls.
“It is fantastic that Crucible are helping us to promote the event, not only are they giving us the fantastic £200 for the boards, with the extra promotion they’re hopefully helping us get more people from the local community along to our event so that we can raise even more money for our school.
“We are hoping to be able to raise enough money to make some playground improvements for the kids – some picnic tables and more shaded area to make play and lunch times an even more enjoyable experience for them all.
“We’ve had some fantastic support for the fayre this year, from lots of local businesses who have sponsored us, and donated raffle prizes. It’s really heart-warming to know we live in a community where everyone is willing to do their bit to help our children enjoy their education experience.”
