I am a baby boomer. My generation has lucked out in so many ways – particularly with regards to housing. I bought my first house (in York) for £2,000 when I was a 21 year old student. My dad subbed me the money, and I paid him back out of my student grant.
Crucible Sales & Lettings would like to offer a massive congratulations to SYHA (our parent company) after they won the 24 Housing Care Provider of the Year award at the recent awards dinner on 6 November.
Shortlisted for the Care and Support Provider of the Year, SYHA won thanks to it’s work on the LiveWell project where they work with many vulnerable customers to maximise their wellbeing, help them to be the best that they can and have moments of joy.

24housing Magazine has ranked SYHA in the Top 50 Landlords with judges placing them at number 36. There initiatives with Moments of Joy and LiveWell at Home were key elements that impressed the judges, who also admired their community focus and the “range of services designed to help residents make the most of their lives.”
Over 120 landlords were nominated this year and landlords needed three or four votes to make it onto the top 50 list. They didn’t actually nominate themselves this year and Jon Land, one of the judges, felt this made it particularly admirable to get into the top 50!
